The 1995-1996 season brought a new regular season formula, with all schools now playing a standardized 12 game regular season. •The third year also found the championship game with two firsts:  the first city school to make the finals and the first school trying to repeat as champion.

School without Walls went 8-4 in the regular season, winning its division.  Walls opened the playoffs with a 190-115 win over Clyde-Savannah.  Wins over Geneseo (220-85), Gates Chili (250-50) and Brighton (270-210) put SWW into the finals.
